Welcome to the Omokoroa community wastewater scheme website.
More than 100 residents, plus almost an equal number of project staff and council representatives, gathered to celebrate the opening of the $31.7 million scheme on Saturday July 7.
During the 18 month construction programme 800m3 of concrete was poured, 18,000m3 of material excavated, 30kms of transfer pipeline laid, 550 manholes built and 9 pump stations constructed.
By the end of 2007 some 866 households will be connected to the scheme, which has capacity for 4,500 connections over the next 20 years.
