Holding an Event on Western Bay of Plenty Roads
Any event held on WBOPDC roads requires permission from Council. Events include sporting, recreational or other events.
To apply to hold an event on local roads an agreement as to event on local roads (pdf) form is required to be completed and submitted to council office or emailed to traffic.management@inroads.co.nz
Charges apply when applying to hold an event on a local road - refer Page 15 of Fees and Charges.
A traffic management plan will be required to be submitted with the application either by the applicant or their contractor. Please refer to COPTTM: Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management:

Working on Western Bay of Plenty Local Roads
Any work on or along side a road in the WBOPDC district requires permission from Council. Works include open trenching, trenchless construction, installation of chambers, cabinets, poles, pedastals, and removal of these. Also work beside the road such as tree felling, work on electrical/telephone lines, etc.
To apply to work on a local road an application to work on local roads (pdf) form is required to be completed and submitted to council office or emailed to traffic.management@inroads.co.nz.

Inroads
Maintenance of state highways and roads in the Western Bay of Plenty District is managed under a $140m ten year performance based contract (PBC).
The objective of the PBC is to obtain better value from road maintenance, renewal and capital expenditure.
The PBC is managed by the Inroads consortium which includes Opus International Consultants (the main contractor) and McBreen Jenkins and Works Infrastructure (the main sub-contractors).
The ten year PBC commenced on 1 October 2002.
