  • Long Term Council Community Plan 2006-2016
    This plan, also known as the LTCCP, outlines the finer points of why Council is doing things, what work will be completed over the next 10 years and what it will cost.  Council is required to review the LTCCP every three years and the 2006-2016 Plan builds on the first LTCCP, which covered the period 2003-2013.

  • 2008/2009 Annual Plan
    An overview of Council's work programme and associated expenditure for the current financial year (1 July 2008 - 30 June 2009).   Amendment to the Long Term Council Community Plan 2006-2016

  • Annual Reports
    An overview of Council's operational performance for the financial year (1 July - 30 June).

  • Built Environment Strategy
    This strategy is being developed to encourage a sustainable approach toward building development.

  • Bylaws
    Legislation specific to the District, for example dog control, water supply and trade waste.

  • Development Trends Report
    An overview of current and future residential, commercial and industrial development patterms in the Western Bay of Plenty District and Tauranga City.

  • District Plan
    Council's guiding document to meet its obligations under the provisions of the Resource Management act 1991 (RMA).  The RMA makes it compulsory for councils to prepare a District Plan.  The Plan uses rules that have the force of law, as well as other methods such as education programmes and incentives.  Everybody, including Council, must comply with the plan.

    District Plan Changes 2006
    The following five plan changes are under appeal to the Environment Court:

    • Rangiuru Business Park - Plan Change 33
      A private plan change request by Quayside Properties Limited which seeks to change the District Plan by rezoning approximately 243 hectares of land at Rangiuru from "Rural G" to a new zone called "Rangiuru Business Park Zone".
    • Tauriko Business Estate - Plan Change 36 
      This private plan change involves land that is predominantly zoned "Rural" in the Tauranga City District Plan and the Western Bay of Plenty District Plan.  The purpose of the proposed plan change is to provide additional business employment land at Tauriko.

  • Subdivision & Development Code of Practice
    A series of standards that need to be complied with when undertakening subdivision in the District.

  • Fees and Charges 2008/2009
    Fees and charges associated with specific Council activities and services, for example regulatory services - building and planning consents and animal services.

  • Comprehensive Development Plans
    Council has working with urban communities in the Dsitrict to develop long term plans that detail a 20 year vision for each community and what needs to be done to achieve it.

    • Te Puke Town Centre Plan
      The Te Puke Town Centre Plan has been developed in response to Te Puke's Comprehensive Development Plan - 'The way forward'.  The concepts, principles and design elements outlined in the Plan are the culmination of significant effort by the Te Puke community, together with the Council, Council's consultants and other key agencies.

  • Reserve Management Plans
    There are management plans for 222 reserves across the District, which include plans covering each urban community.  Apart from being a statutory requirement under the Reserves Act, a management plan provides a one-stop reference point that includes a reserves classification and legal status, the area it covers, infrastructure and funding for capital projects Councils wants to undertake.

  • Local Governance Statement
    Council is required, under the Local Government Act, to prepare and make publicly available a document outlining its functions, responsibilities and activities.  This document is officially known as the Local Governance Statement.

    Proposal for a boat ramp at the southern end of Te Kauri Point.

    A regular news feature distributed to all resident ratepayers in the Western Bay of Plenty District.
