Athenree Village

The small settlement of Athenree, 40 minutes drive north of Tauranga, is a quiet residential area that also offers a pleasant harbourside walk.
From the children’s playground and toilets on Waione Ave, the walkway follows the grassed area in front of the houses. Views of the harbour and Bowentown, along with some lovely pohutukawa are features of this walk.
A small stream in the vicinity of Dr North Memorial Reserve must be skirted and the walkway ends shortly thereafter. The return route could be walked via Pohutukawa Drive/Athenree Road.
