Waihi Beach Reserves Management Plan

A Reserves Management Plan is prepared under the provisions of the Reserves Act 1977 and provides direction for the ongoing day to day management and potential development of Reserves

A Reserve Management Plan is put together in the following way:

  • Council notifies the community of its intention to undertake preparation of a ward wide Reserve Management Plan and calls for suggestions from the community.
  • Suggestions are received from the community and taken into account in the preparation of a draft Reserve Management Plan.
  • A draft Reserve Management Plan is prepared and adopted by Council to be released for community consultation.
  • Written submissions on the draft Reserve Management Plan are received from the community and a Hearing is convened for those wishing to present their submissions.
  • Council meets to consider all submissions and adopts final Reserve Management Plan.
  • Council implements Reserve Management Plan through day to day maintenance / management of reserves and their development.
  • Reserve Management Plans are continuously monitored so that it can adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Formal reviews are carried out every 5 years to ensure the plan remains current.

 - management of resources and publicly funded recreation activities which ensures that reserve provision achieves the same standards and objectives.
