Parks and Reserves

Did you know there are more than 220 beautiful parks and reserves in the Western Bay of Plenty?

While some are better known than others you can be rest assured that whether you want to exercise, walk the dog, have a picnic, use a playground or kick a ball around there’s a park or reserve nearby.

A joint venture between Western Bay of Plenty District Council and Tauranga City Council TECT All Terrain Park is to be opened up over the next 5-20 years, beginning in 2008, to cater for a range of active and passive recreational pursuits. The park is made up of some 1,641ha of land, currently comprising forestry and native bush. If you are into mountain biking, rallying, motocross, firearm sports, 4x4, equestrian, tramping, angling and orienteering check out the link for further information.
